On Tuesday 11th May the 2nd year boys' basketball team will travel to University of Limerick Arena for the All Ireland School Basketball Final versus Castleisland, Co. Kerry. They will be supported by 150 sports fans from the school as well as parents and friends.
The team has been successful in defeating experienced basketball teams from all over the country to claim their place in the final. It is a great achievement for the school, being the first team to reach an All Ireland Final.
Well done to Aisling Judge who is the only student from Cork to have been declared a national winner in the Bank of Ireland Student Awards. Aisling was nominated for the award in the community spirit category for her work with the Chernobyl Children's Project and with the local primary schools. She was also nominated for her fundraising efforts and generosity and for her general willingness to get involved in her local community.

On Monday 15th March in Drimoleague, the U19A girls football team successfully defended their County title which they won for the first time last year. After 60 mins of football, Beara Community School and KCS were tied on a scoreline of 4-8 to 2-14, respectively. Twenty minutes of extra time were needed to produce an eventual winner and it was the girls of KCS who emerged with a six point victory. The winning margin at the end does not reflect the closesness of the entire match which was energy zapping to say the least. However in true Kinsale style it was the never say die attitude...
