Dave Rudden, Author visits KCS

On Friday last 4th of October, Cavan born author and storyteller  Dave Rudden visited Kinsale Community School. Dave was greeted with a warm welcome from our enthusiastic first year students, who were patiently awaiting his arrival in the school gym. Dave treated the first year students to an hour of fun filled discussion on his famous trilogy Knights of the Borrowed Darkness. This caused plenty of lively debate and many thrilling stories were exchanged, before many excited first year students got Dave to sign their copies of Knight of the Borrowed Darkness.

Dave then joined, seventy budding young writers, who were waiting for him upstairs. Dave gave these senior students an interactive creative writing masterclass. Students took example from Dave’s award winning short story Senescence as they completed the various activities. The students worked on their own short story writing, while questioning and gaining insight from Dave taking note of his invaluable advice. Overall an extremely enjoyable day was had by all, and a big thank you to Dave for travelling to Kinsale.
