Durty Dancin' the Musical

Kinsale Community School will present DURTY DANCIN’ from Dec 11 to 15. This stage show will be brought to life on the school stage which has previously produced Hairspray, Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia and Synge Street.

This movie was a ‘must see’ for many of us and had audiences queuing along Patrick Street, Cork City in 1987. This school production is a unique opportunity to sing along to the unforgettable tunes that will have you humming as you leave the hall.

This production is a veritable tribute to the 60’s, the era in which the show is set. With hits like Big Girls Don’t Cry, Do you Love Me, She’s Like the Wind, Hungry Eyes, Be My Baby, Hey Baby, Will you Still Love Me tomorrow and many more this is a show for all generations.

Kinsale’s interpretation remains loyal to the plot of the movie but has been adapted for a school audience. Teens will love the story of 17 year old Baby on holidays with her family in Kellermans Summer Camp where she meets Johnny Castle. What happens next is for ticket holders only.

The show is a treat for all who want to relive this iconic story of teenage love. With comedy, song, film clips and costumes of the era you will not regret spending 2 hours in the company of Kinsale Transition Year Students.

Come along and see if anyone really dares to put Baby in the corner!!

Tickets at 10 euros are available at the school office and at Murphy’s Hardware, Main Street, Kinsale. The show runs from 7.30 to 10pm Tuesday December 11th to Saturday 15th.
