Gemma Whelan, 5th Year Student, to carry Ireland’s Flag at 1st World Deaf Youth Games in Brazil
We are immensely proud to announce that Gemma Whelan, a talented 5th Year student at Kinsale Community School, has secured a place to represent Ireland at the inaugural World Deaf Youth Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil in January. Gemma's outstanding performance in swimming has earned her the honour to represent Ireland in nine swimming events at this prestigious global event.
Set to depart for Brazil on January 11th, Gemma will shine on an international platform at the World Deaf Youth Games. Her journey stands as a testament to her unyielding determination, commitment, and passion for swimming, cultivated through the dedicated training she undergoes at Dolphin Swimming Club. Representing Ireland in nine events is a testament to Gemma's extraordinary talent and devotion to her sport, underscoring the heights one can reach with commitment and zeal.
