History Week

On the 11th to the 15th of March we had a fun filled History Week in Kinsale Community School. We started with a quiz on Monday that was related to history. On Tuesday, our class went out to look at the History Valentine’s Day cards along with our history teacher, Mr. Coughlan. The cards were very funny and some were brilliant! We got to vote for our favourite one. On Thursday, a medieval knight named Brendan came in and talked to us. It was amazing to be able to see the armour that he wore while fighting other knights and to be able to hold the weapons he used. Finally, on Friday we went outside and sang Amhrán na bhFiann and some 4th Year students read out the Proclamation of the Irish Republic. We raised the flag and it is still hanging outside there today. To end our unforgettable History Week 2019, during our history lesson we learned about the history of our national anthem Amhrán na bhFiann which was very interesting. We found out a lot of facts about it none of our class had known. That was the end of our History Week in KCS and we can’t wait for next year’s one!
