Outstanding success for KCS Students at the All Ireland Programming Olympiad
Kinsale Community School is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of two of our students, Lily Cahill and Afric Deasy, at the recent All Ireland Programming Olympiad National Final.
Afric performed exceptionally well, finishing 4th overall in the country, an incredible accomplishment in a highly competitive national event that brings together some of Ireland’s most talented young programmers. As a result of their performances, Afric Deasy and fellow KCS student Lily Cahill have both been selected as part of the top eight students in Ireland to attend an elite training camp at University College Cork (UCC). During this camp, students will undergo further training and assessment, with the Irish teams for the International Olympiad in Informatics (Uzbekistan) and the European Girls’ Olympiad in Informatics (Italy) to be selected from this group.
This is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the dedication, talent and hard work shown by both students. It also reflects the growing strength and enthusiasm for Computer Science at Kinsale Community School.
We wish Afric and Lily the very best as they take part in the training camp and look forward to following their progress in the next stages of the competition. Congratulations to both students on this fantastic success.
