Congratulations to Our Super Trouper Stars

After five months of dedication, creativity, teamwork and countless rehearsals, this year’s Transition Year School Musical, ‘Super Trouper’ has finally taken to the stage — and what an incredible journey it has been.

From the very first read-through back in the November to the final curtain call, our students have shown outstanding commitment and passion. What audiences witnessed on stage was the result of months of hard work: long rehearsals after school, choreography sessions, vocal practices, line-learning, costume fittings, set construction and technical preparation. Every dance step, harmony, prop and lighting cue represented hours of dedication behind the scenes.

The cast and chorus threw themselves into singing, dancing and acting with energy and enthusiasm. Rehearsals were filled with laughter, focus and determination in equal measure. As one student stated, “the show was an amazing experience.” Another described it as “never one boring moment. Made so many amazing memories and made great new friends.”

For many involved, it was about far more than just performing. It was about connection, creativity and community. “The show was such a fun experience, rehearsals were always a laugh,” said one student, while another summed it up beautifully: “the show is an easy excuse to hang out with your friends while having the time of your life.” Perhaps the most fitting reflection came from a student who said, “I have never laughed so much than those few months of rehearsals.”

Of course, what happens on stage is only half the story. Our backstage crew worked tirelessly on set design, props, lighting, sound and stage management. The transformation of raw materials into a vibrant stage world was a testament to their creativity and teamwork. Costumes were sourced, altered and organised with incredible attention to detail. Every backdrop was painted, every prop placed, every quick change managed with professionalism and care.

This production would not have been possible without the extraordinary commitment of our staff and creative team. From the Director, Janet Forrest, guiding the vision of the show, the Musical Director, Brid Kearney shaping every vocal harmony, the Choreographers, Lynn O’Regan, Ciara Quinlivan and Leah Kirwan crafting dynamic routines, the Set Designer, Rossie Roccaforte bringing the stage to life, the Costume team, Niamh Hay and Lauryn Kiely, Producer Niamh Hay, technical crew, and the many staff members who supported in countless unseen ways — their dedication ensured that the students were supported every step of the way.

The Transition Year Musical is always a highlight of the school calendar, but it is more than just a performance. It is an opportunity for students to grow in confidence, develop new skills, discover hidden talents and form friendships that will last long beyond the final bow.

We are immensely proud of every single student and staff member who contributed to this year’s production of ‘Super Trouper’. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to make it such a success.

Here’s to the memories made, the friendships formed, and the magic created on stage.
