Wellfest at KCS: A Celebration of Wellbeing in Action
On Friday 27th March, Kinsale Community School was alive with positive minds, powerful energy, resilience, and connection as we hosted our very own Wellfest — a day dedicated to celebrating all aspects of wellbeing.
This exciting event brought our Indicators of Wellbeing to life, offering students a valuable opportunity to connect, recharge, and engage in activities that nurtured both body and mind. From mindfulness to music, movement to markets, there truly was something for everyone.
The day began with high energy and big smiles as the Astro Turf and track were transformed into a vibrant Sports Day arena. Students got active, showcasing their skills in fun and friendly competitions while supporting and encouraging one another. Over in Saile, the Games Zone created a buzz of laughter and teamwork, as students bonded through a variety of engaging challenges.
Meanwhile, in the Sports Hall, calm took centre stage. Students participated in soothing mindfulness sessions — a chance to slow down, breathe, and reflect. These quiet moments served as a powerful reminder that wellbeing is not just about physical activity, but also about awareness and taking time to check in with our thoughts and feelings.
The Atrium was filled with colour, creativity, and excitement as it hosted a lively market and karaoke stage. Students proudly displayed handmade crafts, treats, and talents, while courageous performers brought energy and joy through song. The atmosphere was electric — a true celebration of student voice and creativity.
In the Theatre, music took the spotlight with an outstanding concert featuring talented student performers. The performances were filled with emotion and energy, highlighting the strong sense of community that defines KCS.
From start to finish, the day echoed with cheers, laughter, and a shared sense of belonging. Students fully embraced the spirit of the event, strengthening friendships and celebrating what makes the KCS community so special.
Throughout the day, one message rang loud and clear: Wellbeing matters. Whether through movement, music, mindfulness, or meaningful moments with friends, looking after ourselves and each other is something we can all take pride in.
As we wrap up Wellfest, we encourage everyone to carry this energy forward:
Let’s stay active, remain aware, and continue to celebrate all things wellbeing at KCS.
