KCS Students take 2nd Place out of 31 teams in Team Maths Competition

Four teams of sixth-year students from Kinsale Community School travelled to Coláiste Na Toirbhirte in Bandon yesterday to take part in the Team Maths Competition, an event that challenges Leaving Certificate students to apply their mathematical knowledge in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Competing in teams of four, students tackled a series of challenging problem-solving and quiz-style rounds designed to test their logical thinking, teamwork and mathematical skills. The competition attracted 31 teams from schools across the region and was highly competitive throughout.

All four KCS teams performed very well on the day. The team of Cillian Fitzpatrick, Brian Nagle, PJ Crowe and Amy Hayes achieved an outstanding result, finishing second overall out of 31 teams after a closely contested series of rounds.

This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the students’ hard work and dedication. Well done to all the KCS students who took part, and many thanks to the organisers and staff of Coláiste Na Toirbhirte, as well as to Mr. Holly and Mr. O’Leary, for supporting the students on the day
